Racism: George Floyd protest

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin, but by the content of their character”
-Martin Luther King

The USA is the most powerful and the influential country of the world with the largest economy, High – tech infrastructure and manufacturing, powerful military and also in space in every aspect. But with all that, it is also struggling with discrimination with black people and racism from centuries. Nowadays, it is commonly seen in the USA and police brutality against the racial minority, especially with black people, has become a common occurrence in the USA.

A large area has been bought under risk during COVID – 19 when a new conflagration broke out in the U.S named “George Floyd protest” or “twin city protest” in Minnesota where an African American was bought to death by Police allegedly for just a $ 20 currency note. George Floyd quit his life with his last set of words “I can’t breathe” The words have a strong connection with the U.S case of 2014 of Eric Garner, where another harsh deed of racial discrimination went at the peak. In such a situation, officials should be highly careful about their public speeches and should refrain from saying anything which could add ‘Fuel to Fire’. But in George Floyd case Donald Trump tweeted “These THUGS are dishonouring the memory of George Floyd, and I won’t let that happen, just spoke to Governor Tim Walz and told him that ministry is with him that the Military is with him all the way. Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts this caused mass-scale protests.

Everyone in a country is firstly a Human being and then it is a religion or colour, don’t Judge them on the basis of colours, religious beliefs etc. but even in 21st century we are facing the same discrimination say for example A report in U.S reveals that the income of a white family in America is ‘just double’ of that of a black family residing in America.

At last I want to highlight that Former U.S president Barack Obama was himself a best example of end of racism there. But the new case now during the President Donald Trump is again creating or highlighting Racism and also the support of Mr. Trump for this, its truly not a Good Sign.
